A nice historical fiction with lots of brutality and politics. From start to end there is a nice and logical flow through 3 generations. The characters in this book are well thought of and the character development is very good and explained well. Some parts were difficult to go through for me especially the ones with what Aliena went through. All in all, a very long but nice read. For all the characters and events in the book, the length of the book is normal in my view, but be prepared!
