Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufman

Right off the bat we are introduced and hit straight into the story. I really appreciated that. I love it when a book can just through you in the plot and you start to make sense of the world after a few chapters.

Having such a diverse world of Aliens and Humans living together? Excellent. The way they created alliances and treaties I also thought was so well done. We meet the Gang and I have to say I loved each and everyone one of them by the end.

We have such lovely comedic relief in the story and times were I actually laughed out loud and times were I just had to put the book down...it was that good. I’ve not read a huge amount of SCI-FI and I know I will recommend this book every time. We have multiple POVS and you learn more about the characters and the quest as you go along. So many questions and answers. I think if you read this book there will be at least one of the squad members that you may relate too. I haven’t spoken much about the plot because I think it’s so much better just going into it with no expectations and enjoying it as it is. I did that and it was amazing.

Overall I think this was a fast paced read, lovable characters, a plot with so much going on and so many questions, by the end I was sitting there in complete disbelief. I recommend this to all readers and especially to those who haven’t read a lot of sci-fi like me.
