Hoover is one of the great storytellers of our generation. Regardless of what she does, she brings you into complex characters and the worlds they make up for themselves and the lessons that are learned along the way. She illuminates families' loneliness, especially when they all live under the same roof, learning how to be a part of the world and a part of themselves.
