This book was absolutely gorgeous yet painful.
The writing is gorgeous the story line split in diferent timelines is amazing and insightful.
This book needs to be read with caution since it's about grooming, pedophile, r*ape and some more.... because of all this I found myself angry, frustrated, sad and sometimes even crying.
What it is about:
Vanessa is a 15 years old student in a fancy school. In one of the class, her English teacher touched her knee and slowly he started saying romantic things to her that confuse the young girl. Before turning 16, they had s*x and things are becoming more complicated. He keeps asking for permission in the same time saying she will be to blame more than him if their relationship gets out.
In her 30's Vanessa still clings into him, or more the memories of him. Even tho she knows she was abused, she cannot help not to protect him in front of everyone...
Many things happend, and I feel like Vanessa never had anyone close to her that could talk,understand and help her. The teaher (pedophile) became that for her, excluding her from other students her age. Showing her she is more mature than others and that she doesn't belog with them....
They talked alot about Lolita, and I am.not sure if I will be steong enough to read about this theme anytime soon.
