This definitely was an improvement over the first book in the Trilogy. Especially the last part felt like a really high stakes epic DnD style dungeon crawl and was overall highly enjoyable.
Getting there though was not always great. There were some where cringey scenes especially one involving a prostitute in a tavern. And also a bunch of stuff felt pretty repetitive. Like "we've done this before lets move on".
I did like that we got Catti-Brie more involved in the story as it really needed more presence of female characters and the same goes for an actual threatening villian which we also got with Artemis Entreri.
Still not the most original story but certainly fun.
