You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle

5.0

this is the most unhinged romance book i’ve ever read i think. and i love it, so much. i’m so glad this was the book i started off 2023 with. i began the book laughing and ended it crying. i actually cried.

i love how this book tells you to not take love for granted. to cherish the people around you. to both take and give. without expectations. to be patient because love takes worth and effort. and that second chances down come by easily so when they do, you must grab them as fast as you can.

naomi and nicholas are far from perfect. and they are that best when they show that side of themselves to each other. loving someone at their worst really makes all the differences. it was so wonderful seeing their development as they slowly opened up to each other and to us, the readers.

i honestly began the book thinking i’d hate it? could i even connect to these childish characters choosing to be unhappy? but there was so much more to it and i loved seeing it all unravel. and yes, i still maintain that they are childish but it was done in such a way that it turns out endearing. i loved seeing them fight and i loved seeing them love.

this review is all a mess because it’s 2am but just know that this book is so worth it.
