The Prisoner by B.A. Paris
3.0

I am a huge fan of B.A. Paris. I have read all of her books and she is one of my top suspense authors. This book however, wasn't my favorite.

The book starts off strong. Amelie wakes up and finds herself trapped in darkness. She doesn't know where she is, who kidnapped her, or why. The story switches between the past and the present giving us insight into Amelie's life. The chapters are short, quick and full of tension.

I figured out midway where the story was going but I still kept reading to see how it would play out. It started to drag a little for me in the middle. The ending was so abrupt that I had to make sure I didn't skip anything. Even though things were overly explained, I still had questions.

I would still recommend that you try this one out. You may have a different experience. Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC
