I took a lazy snow day recently and I was looking for some pure trash to entertain me for the day. The same thing happened to me that always happens to me when I try to read urban fantasy: I am intrigued and have fun with the book in the beginning, and end up bored to tears and skimming by the end. I am fairly certain this is personal preference, and the bottom line is I am not a fan of reading action. I like the world building in urban fantasies, and enjoy the set up, but when it comes down to ALL THE STUFF HAPPENING I end up bored. My favorite parts end up being the mundane parts, so I guess maybe that means I shouldn't read fantasy or action?? Guess I'd better just go read somebody's diary. As far as romance goes, I also like the build up to that better too. Anyway, if you are actually a fan of urban fantasy/romance I'm sure you will like this.
