Another year flew by and this year was quite a stressful one for me, but no matter what reading remained a priority of mine. I've read 77 books so far and probably I would read at least two more. But I decided to make a top 16 favourite books of mine that I have read during this year. So, here we go with my top 16 favourite reads in no particular order:
i. The Secret History by Donna Tartt - I'm still in love with this book, with how mysterious it is, how those characters were so complex and unforgettable. if you haven't read it, what are you doing with your life???
ii. The Winner's Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski - I've read this trilogy in a week, I think, it was so beautiful and the ship in this book is so glorious, you'll die. I promise.
iii. Captive Prince (the entire trilogy) by C.S.Pacat - these two idiotic princes have my heart, that's enough said.
iv. Some Kind of Perfect by Krista and Becca Ritchie- this is the only book related to the addicted gang I've read this year and I'm suffering. I've read all the available books written by Krista and Becca the last year and 2016 was so hollow without their writing. I can't wait for Infini. (but this was one was amaaaazing)
v. The Sunne In Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman - I'm not your usual Historical Fiction fan, but this book is so well written and so beautiful, it is 900-something pages long and I'm thinking of re-reading it. (that's how amazing it is)
vi. A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness - I almost cried. :(
vii. All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic - andreil, andreil, andreil, bye
viii. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne - angst, off-charts chemistry, it has it all. read it.
ix. Kulti by Mariana Zapata - another sports read , this is a slow-burn and you'll adore their friendship, I assure you.
x. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab - pirates, amazing female characters, diverse characters, a ship that I feel will destroy meee. yeah.
xi. And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie - my first book by this queen and it was wonderful, the whole mystery, the climax.
xii. Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets - this year have been the year I've decided to read Harry Potter (yes, for the first time) and it's happening and I'm serious about it.
xiii. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys - it made me cry. hard.
xiv. The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan (and the Lost Hero and The Greek Heroes) - I love everything Uncle Rick writes. I hope during the next year, I'll finally finish the HOO series. (I'm so lazy)
xv. It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover - this book is not a romanceeee, stop the lies.
xvi. P.S. I Like You by Kasie West - Kasie West is the queen of fluffy contemporary, read her books if you want something fluffy and this one was her best, in my opinion.
