The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison
5.0
challenging dark emotional sad tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

This book definitely deals with some very difficult topics. There were parts I found hard to read, but I did enjoy Morrison's writing and appreciate how she handled these topics.
Pecola is a little Black girl who desperately wishes for blue eyes because blue eyes will make her pretty. This book will stick with you for awhile and open your eyes to the unimaginable that it much too close to true life.
