Your Deepest Fear by David Jackson

4.0

Your Deepest Fear is the fourth psychological thriller in the DS Nathan Cody series, and what a cracking read it is. It's a long time since I've read a thriller so addictive and intensely gripping the I ended up taking the phone off the hook and ignoring my life for the nail-biting couple of hours I spent enjoying it. It has a dark, disturbing plot with a truly brutal murder and a wonderful mystery about it which stems from the curious message left on the answering machine.

Although part of a (fantastic) series each of these instalments can be read as a standalone as you learn enough information about the recurring characters to understand them nicely. The cast and the story are deepened with every turn of the page and given the number of shocking, exhilarating and truly gobsmacking reveals throughout this is a must-read for crime, mystery, thriller and psychological suspense fans. I cannot wait for the next instalment. More, please! Many thanks to Zaffre for an ARC.
