How to Fail at Flirting by Denise Williams

3.0

It took me so long to finish this book and I think it was partially because it was not as light as I was hoping. I like my romance reads to be light and fluffy so this had much heavier elements than I was expecting. True, I did not read the synopsis on the back nor did I check the content warnings on here — I went it pretty blind, but still I do agree with others that it would have been nice if there was a content warning in the beginning of the book. Especially since there was a note in the back of the book about intimate partner violence, I feel like it would make sense to have something of the same nature in the front. I think the other reason that I was never that excited to pick this book up was I did not particularly enjoy any of the characters. I found them all to be varying levels of corny and/or annoying. I enjoyed Naya and Jake’s meet-cute but even the banter there was a struggle for me to get into.
