Get this book if you are pregnant or planning to be! It's such a complete, well-rounded resource for what to expect throughout the entire process of pregnancy and beyond. This book is written by doctors, but it's in plain English that's clear and easy to understand and broken up into bite-size chunks with actionable tips. It's straightforward but not scary! A nice change from the books that try to be jokey and insider-ish or tell you how awful everything is going to be.
I found it so useful to follow along with week-by-week to learn what to expect of myself physically and emotionally, what to expect at the next doctor's appointment and what stage the baby's development was at. So many times I found that I was prepared for what my midwife would bring up at an appointment because this book had just covered it.
As far as I can tell, it covers all the bases, even including what tests to expect when and why, topics you might want discuss with your provider or significant other, symptoms of pregnancy and how to manage them, difficulties that might arise, types of labor and delivery, and what to expect post-delivery.
