Fried Green Tomatoes is one of my all time favorite books. I think it started my love of a quirky cast of characters and small town setting. That is one of the reasons I enjoyed The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop. I got to revisit all those characters and meet some more. But I settled on a 3 star review because there wasn't much of a story. I recognize there is a small story line, but most of the book felt like vignettes of the older characters. It almost felt like an book size epilogue to Fried Green Tomatoes instead of it's own story.
