Compulsively readable but also mid. Hard to describe. It's like nostalgia of 2000s urban fantasy but also the flaws are quite obvious in the pacing of the writing. I started the next one and its like 6% of the book is recap of this one. Again the back and forth of past and present tense can bring me out of a scene but I want to know what haaaappppeeennnnsssss.......
