A Song for Ella Grey by David Almond
4.0

This story is a fresh take on the Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice and would be an excellent teaching tool in an ancient Greek literature unit in high school. I think the way the story is told would help to expose teens to alternative types of prose, and maybe help them look on Greek literature, not with musty skepticism, but with new interest that the protagonists of old are just like them.
