Return Of The Runaway Bride by Donna Clayton
4.0
This is a really sweet reunited lover tale. It has a real sense of strength in the main character. Such a heartwarming read.
Savannah is an intriguing character. She starts off as a naive young girl and then we jump ahead to six years latter. Big changes in six years, she is now an independent woman coming home. I loved her growth and change from the beginning of the book. She really does work for her change.
Daniel runs hot and cold for me. Sure he has trust issues, but boy does he hold a grudge. In the end I warmed up to him, but it was a journey.
The supporting cast was super fun, especially Miss Ida. They really round out the story and make it feel like a sweet hometown romance.
The bedroom door is firmly closed. They have some steamy thoughts and hot kisses, but the smexy stuff stays off limits. It is a sweet romance with hints of spice.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Laura Jennings, who is lovely. She does a great job with the characters and keeps the accents light. She has a great pace that moves along with the story. Very soothing tone. I loved her paired with this book and will definitely look for more of her reads.
Overall, this was a really sweet read, I like a sappy romance every now and again. Nothing too deep but very satisfying in the end. I am becoming a fan of Ms Fasano's style. Sometimes you want a nice and easy romance without tons of drama. This really hit the spot!
