Counting on a Countess by Eva Leigh

5.0

The set up for this novel was .... intricate. I could see the various strings being pulled and the scaffolding set up. But OH! What a payoff! I loved the way Leigh subverted so many tropes and "standard" scenes from historical romance. My favorite was the scene when Tamsyn is behind the desk and giving Kit the once over. SO GOOD. Also, by FAR the best grovels I have ever read. Kit's especially was so good I re-read it a couple times.

This is the kind of romance that, once finished, it's best to take a genre break for a bit. It's that good.
