“I’m not stupid. I know how lust works. Lust wants what lust can’t have”

Controversy cannot be avoided in this one in afraid! If you love this book please do still read this review, I hope it can give you a different insight into the book.

Where to start? I instantly did not like this book, I kept reading thinking it’d get better and it just got worse.

In short: man woman meet. Man woman lust. Man woman sexual arrangement. Man is an arse. Woman doesn’t want to stick to arrangement. Woman also doesn’t want to tell man she doesn’t want to stick with arrangement. Man is an arse bc ✨trauma✨. Woman keeps crying bc she wants more. Man keeps making it clear he can’t have more. Woman set on fixing man. (Skip to the last ten chapters) Trauma, trauma trauma. Trauma fixed. Happy ever after.

The main thing that really got to me with this book was the trauma sweeping. Miles’ whole personality is based on this unknown trauma he’s experienced, then in the last ten chapters the trauma is reviled and fixed. Just like that. The first thirty chapters you ask? Sex. Just pure lust and sex.

The trauma he goes through is also very shocking and is told in explicit detail. I knew it was coming, but reading it absolutely crushed me. I’d read the trigger warnings, and there was no specific reason this would upset me (more than it would a normal person). But the way it was just swept over? Crushed me.

Tate? Let’s not discuss her lack of personality.
Let us also not discuss how one of the boys (Miles or her brother)always comes to save her day. This really didn’t scream strong female character to me. More passive and pretty boring.

Also with Tate, can someone PLEASE explain to me why she, on multiple occasions, refers to her brother as attractive? I honestly couldn’t even fathom this.

Speaking of her brother. Why is the damn man so overly protective? It disgusts me. All the men are just very “don’t touch her”, “she’s mine”, “my little sister awewwwew”. Just gross and really sets a bad standard on how men should be with women and how women should act around men.

That’s all I have to say about this monstrosity😅 Wondering why I kept reading? I had to know what happened to Rachel. Guess what? That disappointed me too.
