A good story overall, but nothing will ever top the first book! minimal spice, but very emotional!

A good story overall, but nothing will ever top the first book. This book was very opposite from the first book, but not in a bad way! There was very little spice (literally none until the last chapters), which made sense with the story line, but I was hoping for way more after the first book. I found myself just like “okay come on get it together already” sooooo many times. I totally get both of their reasonings for their actions, but it was VERRRRRRRRY slow burn (I’m not usually a slow burn girly) and the end felt a bit rushed. I was really hoping to see more of them after that ending (maybe an epilogue or two will be coming?).
I love going back and forth every few chapters to see both of their POV’s before and after Deaton’s death. You really have to pay attention to what’s going on to keep up. I loved seeing snippets of Noah and Ari along the way too. It warmed my heart
