Genre & Tropes : fantasy romance x arranged marriage x fae x dragons x royals
Le premier tome d'une série que j'ai dévoré !
Depuis les deux dernières nouvelles que l'auteure avait sortie (voire la fin de ma chronique), j'étais TELLEMENT impatiente d'avoir enfin le premier tome de cette nouvelle série ! Et je l'ai dévoré d'une seule traite !
Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé :
- l'univers qui était très intriguant avec les différents mythes, les dieux, les différents fae ... J'ai adoré explorer tout l'univers ! (mention spéciale pour le côté très "barbare" des faes sombres ><)
- les intrigues très prenantes et très bien écrites : la quête d'Una, l'identité du traître ... J'ai adoré les différentes révélations au fil des pages !
- la romance !! C'est presque un slowburn avec tellement de malentendus et de maladresses de chaque côté et des sentiments qui se renforcent au fil des pages ... J'ai adoré ce couple et les voir finalement devenir plus qu'un simple mariage arrangé !
Bref, un premier tome de romance fantasy que j'ai adoré ! L'attente pour le prochain livre va être horrible !
Après cette lecture, je vous conseille de lire dans le même univers (ça concerne les deux soeurs que Una mentionne !) :
- la nouvelle The Beast Fae's Bargain
- la nouvelle Kings and Bones dans l'anthology The Lovely Dark : A Monster Romance Anthology

The first book of a series that I devoured !
Since the last two short stories that the author had released (see the end of my review), I was SO impatient to finally have the first book of this new series ! And I devoured it in one go !
What I particularly liked :
- the universe which was very intriguing with the different myths, the gods, the different fae ... I loved exploring the whole univers e! (special mention for the very "barbaric" side of the dark faes ><)
- the plots very gripping and very well written : Una's quest, the identity of the traitor ... I loved the different revelations throughout the pages !
- the romance !! It's almost a slowburn with so many misunderstandings and clumsiness on each side and feelings that grow stronger throughout the pages ... I loved this couple and seeing them finally become more than just an arranged marriage !
In short, a first book of fantasy romance that I loved ! The wait for the next book is going to be horrible !
After reading this, I recommend you to read in the same universe (it concerns the two sisters that Una mentions!) :
- the short story The Beast Fae's Bargain
- the short story Kings and Bones in the anthology The Lovely Dark: A Monster Romance Anthology
