Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
5.0
Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros is an astonishingly powerful follow up to Fourth Wing!
I can say with certainty that I couldn't have guessed most of what occurred in this novel. Only minor moments were predictable, and never the main parts
While the first half did drag a little, it was clearly building up to something much bigger in part two, and the second half of the book felt like it flew right by (no pun intended)
I found myself crying for people I had previously hated, which is not something I would have ever expected. But then, somehow, I ended up laughing a few seconds later? I swear my housemate looked at me like I was insane
There are some characters that I wish I'd seen more of, including Dain. I won't say my thoughts on him, but I will say I think he should have had a larger part in this book, but perhaps that's for future books.
That ending... I have no words. The author clearly loves to torture us, but I've come to terms with that as much as I'm going to hate waiting for the next book.
I can't wait to see what happens from here. I'm beyond invested, and I almost regret being so invested because waiting for the next book is going to be so difficult
