This book was so captivating. The first part was difficult to get through but sososo important to read because that is the reality of so many Palestinians. Tragic, disgusting, and just... inhumane. Adania Shibli's prose is absolutely stunning and I loved following the thoughts of our unnamed narrator in the second part. Highly recommend people reading this- yes, the material is uncomfortable and difficult to stomach; however, we need to listen to Palestinian writers in these cruel times (said cruel times being 77 years+). Their thoughts and reflections in literature (both fiction and non-fiction) deserve sincere compassion and curiosity.
