Larrimah by Kylie Stevenson, Caroline Graham

challenging emotional funny mysterious medium-paced

4.0

Up in the town of Larrimah, in the Never Never, Paddy Moriarty and his dog Kelly go missing. A town of now 11 people in the middle no nowhere, with no rhyme or reason or clues behind Paddy’s strange disappearance.

This is a non fiction murder mystery in a sense, as two journalists write their version, their first hand experience. The spent an incredible amount of time travelling in and around Larrimah, spending time researching the interviews, the leads, the false hopes and all the strange in between of this quirky little town.

Learning the lives of the Larrimah locals, their quarrels, how barren and harsh the conditions in the middle of nowhere are, and how someone can magically disappear without a trace made this book so encapsulating.

I really enjoyed the whole premise of this book and I’m glad I picked this one up.
