I’m a big fan of Ali Wong’s hilarious standup and have been lucky enough to see her perform at the Comedy Cellar before she became one of the biggest female comedians in the world. Her raunchy and honest humor is spot on and I was eager to learn more about her life.
Wong writes about her life in the format of letters to her two daughters, for them to read when they are older. She gives advice on dating, sex, being an Asian American woman, traveling, food and so much more. We get the quintessential Wong humor but with so much heart and love.
I highly recommend listening to this audiobook, as Wong narrates it expertly. (There’s also an afterword by her now ex husband which he narrates.) I found this book a delightful and also deep book. I didn’t specifically set out to listen to this during AAPI month but what a great coincidence.
