The Troop
by Nick Cutter
I thought I was signing up for a run of the mill thriller. I was WRONG. The characters are just, so well written I fell in love with almost all of them which I try not to do when I'm reading a horror book but ya know oops. This plot was great and I was glued to this book, I thought I would just start it today, instead, I missed two zoom appointments because I got sucked in and completely lost track of time. I thought I had been reading for a few minutes and it had been over an hour. This book absolutely sucked me in and destroyed me. I loved the format of this book and the chapter breaks with an outside perspective were just really cool, it added a whole new element to the story. I don't know why it isn't a five star, to be honest. I really liked this book but it didn't feel like a 5-star book if that makes sense. I'd give it a solid 4.5. Maybe it was the ending? I liked the ending though? Anyway, a great thriller definitely give it a read.
