Crashing the A-List by Summer Heacock
4.0
I mostly really enjoyed this book. The dialogue is funny and the author does a great job of developing the female main character's personality and motivations.
The book handled the discussions about escorts very well and in a way that felt like it was neither shaming nor glorifying the life/job.
A couple negatives. The book was really, really great until the last maybe 1/5 when it really starting running in circles with the main characters just having the same arguments over and over again. Also, I would have preferred a few fewer moments with the best friend and instead more with the love interest. At times the interactions with the friend were a little over the top and I wish there was more time seeing the main characters interact with one another.
On a side note: did this start as a Benedict Cumberbatch fanfic??? The MMC is clearly written to imply that's who he is and I can't tell if it is just supposed to be funny or if the author really loves him.
