📌“Damn, Paisley. That didn’t only put our first kiss to shame. That put all first kisses to shame.”

📌“You seem to have found your voice.”
“Klein brings it out of her,” Sienna says. Grandma shakes her head, disagreeing. “I don’t think he brings it out. More like he doesn’t suppress it.”

📌“We had something back then, Paisley, and we have something today, and that tells me we’ll have something in twenty years. In forty. In fifty. We are evergreen.”

And just like that, Jennifer Millikin bulldozed over my carefully organized list of favorites for the month of April. Joking, I’m always a hot mess, favorites list included. But what I’m not joking about is the fact this book easily slid in to the top.

Maybe it was the summer-y vibes, the characters who stole my heart, the “always a favorite” fake dating trope, or maybe the way this story was so well written. Maybe it was everything. I just know it had me in the beginning, the middle and in the end. This story was evergreen. Always perfect throughout its seasons.

If you’re looking for a good way to start May, look no further. This is the book you want. You might become completely useless to the world until you finish it but hey, at least you’ll be at the beach 😜

Klein would write this better than me. Alas, I’m just me… trying to tell you how much I adored Here For The Cake 🥹
