The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco

2.0

okay, so here's what works for me: the set up is super promising. the flashes between where Tea starts and where she ends up - banished girl summoning monsters on a creepy beach to, apparently, wreck the world's shit? yes please! - are clever and kept me consistently hungry to find out what was going to happen.
unfortunately, to continue the food metaphor a bit, when I realized that we weren't going to see the whole journey in this book, my appetite began to wane. I'm curious about what's coming for Tea, but by the halfway point the book had definitely started to drag, and right now I don't think I have the motivation in me to do this two more time and complete the trilogy.
