Featherbed
by Annabeth Albert
“His mouth pursed. I wanted to kiss it. Perversely, the more uptight he got, the more I wanted to unravel him.”
Featherbed is a sweet and spicy, age gap, opposites attract start to the Vino & Veritas series. Harrison and Finn could not be more different, but I love what they brought to one another. Their relationship started off based solely on attraction, but the friendship that is cultivated is sweet and silly and caring. You just can tell they truly care for one another, and I liked that a lot.
It’s a low angst, smiley, easy read. I struggled a little with the voice, the story is absolutely great, but the author told us a lot about the experienced feelings and deep emotional connection that I didn’t necessarily “feel” and experience as the reader. Regardless, it was a fun first step into the series and I would absolutely read something else from the author.
