Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
3.75
medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Loveable characters: Complicated

this is not a story of romance but of sisterhood between elinor who represents sense and marianne who represents sensibility. it shows us how each of them deal with their troubling situations (as having either sense or sensibility was a big debate at the time).

towards the end both sisters have to learn to adapt to each others sense/sensibility.

I can see how this can be a less interesting read for others because it's entirely character based which is why I think context/research is important and needed when choosing a jane austen book to read like this one.

when I say this is a book about sisterhood I mean it and they very strongly represent their trait so there can be some frustration for readers. you also do not see much of the male characters/love interests or even their other younger sister who I forgot existed lol, along with other side characters.

a fairly easy read, language is slightly hard to understand at the beginning, but the chapters are extremely short so very very easy to get through imo.

overall a good book but my advice is to definitely research a bit if this is right for you.
