heylookitsjan 's review for:
Crossing Abby Road
by Ophelia London
I received an ARC of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review
Marine, Todd Camford, is enjoying his post military life, running a little surf shop on the beach in Florida. (with plans for expansion). Abigail Kelly is a famous pop star who wants to fly under the radar for a while. After Todd rescues Abby from a potential mob scene, they choose to spend the day together, hanging out, picnicking and sharing some of their secrets. But what happens when their one day comes to an end?
This is a sweet story; the ideal summer beach read, told from Todd’s point-of-view. The reader invests him/herself in Todd & Abby’s budding romance, however, the book ends rather abruptly, which was a bit disconcerting. I felt that the reader was left hanging by the author, who is clearly setting up for a sequel or a part two. I would rather have had a longer book that tells more of a complete story, specifically delving into each of Todd and Abby’s pasts and exploring their future (together or apart) as well.
