Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner

5.0

This is such a chill book. This is kind of thing I would read when I'm not in the mood for anything too long, or too challenging. When I just want to read something with cute characters, and adorable conversations. It's not a masterpiece or anything sure, but I just really enjoyed seeing these really likeable characters interact with eachother. And the slow pace made the pay-off that much more satisfying. I might have to start reading more romance, as it was really refreshing to have a relationship that felt developed.

I thought I was a person who didn't like romance in fiction. Usually when two characters kiss it results in me yelling at the screen or the page. But, after reading this book, I figured out that I don't hate romance, I hate an undeveloped romance. As I read through reviews I thought that this book might be a frustrating slow burn, but I actually really liked how slowly the romance moved along. It felt earned, instead of a random kiss that makes no sense at the end.

I can see why people might not have liked this, but I really really enjoyed it.
