I read this book to pieces when I was in high school. I read it again this year for the first time in at least twenty years and it holds up! The 5 stars are maybe a tiny bit unearned because I continue to have issues with the way Irving writes women. But I have so much affection for this book I couldn't bring myself to downgrade it.
