Burn For You by J.H. Croix

5.0

Burn For You by J.H. Croix is a steamy addition to her Into the Fire series. This book is a stand-alone novel that brings us the steamy romance between Holly and Nate. After a heated kiss that almost leads to more Holly and Nate have just about avoided each other. Nate is known for being casual with the ladies and not looking for anything serious relationship wise. He’s not a complete cade but he has a reputation for having his fun and then moving on to the next. All of that is about to change when he sees a prime opportunity to live out his fantasies with Holly. Now, if only they can avoid the usual pitfalls of a potential budding romance…
Burn For You is steamy from beginning to end. Holly is a nurse at the local hospital and she’s had a thing for her brother’s best friend Nate. Everything kicks off with an auction around Halloween with Holly sporting a sexy nurse’s costume. Nate wants a shot with her and he spends big bucks to make it happen. Holly is wanting to settle down and have a family, but that’s not so easy when you live in a town where everyone knows you. I like how dedicated to her job Holly is and how strong her friendships are with her friends. She keeps things private when she needs to and is pretty good with finding the right one to talk to concerning certain topics. Nate is smart, sexy, and oh-so-hard to resist.
The author gives us steamy and lots of it when things jump off between Holly and Nate. Get ready because you don’t have to wait long. I enjoy this book, but there are times when I feel that the author is describing an anime character more than an actual woman. There are moments of where I wish that there was more drama between the characters, of an outside source, but I appreciate that things aren’t all smooth sailing between them. I just wish that Holly had given Nate an opportunity to explain himself in certain situations.
All in all, I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. This a steamy romance novel that blends in familiar characters from previous books in this series. The author gives us a happily ever after with these characters and gives us a taste of their life after they get straight. I enjoy the ending and how everything comes together. Definitely a must-read for those who have enjoyed reading books by this author and the familiar characters that show up in this book.
