Such an amazing introspective book that holds up a mirror to the main character and the reader. It deserved to win the Booker Prize with how deep and layered it was, especially how relevant it is when it deals with topics like migrants and refugees. This book would make you sit and think for a very long time.

"You’re not hearing me, you will not be saved."

A haunting line that continues throughout the book and reminds the reader of their humanity and the consequences of the lack of it.
