zivan 's review for:
The Elephant Whisperer
by Lawrence Anthony, Graham Spence
I got this book on an Audible.com Daily Deal, and then only when I was assured by goodreads reviews that this had nothing to do with dog whispering.
Then low and behold it just one an Audi Award for best narrator.
The incredible, Simon Vance.
Vance did indeed do a very good job accenting and intoning the endless series of emergency calls managing a wildlife reserve seems to consist of.
I was kept at the edge of my seat most of the time. and the rest of the time I was in awe at the kind of connection people can have with animals.
The editor of the audio version however doesn't deserve and Audi as there are a number of occasions where you can feel that a sentence has been spliced in. Suddenly a few words are spoken in a different, rather flat tone, before returning to the pitch and feel of the previous section.
