Hooked: How Crafting Saved My Life by Sutton Foster

4.0

Normally, I would give a breezy celeb memoir like this 3 stars and be done with it. This one however "hooked" me with the crafting angle. 2020 saw me return to my old crafting love, cross-stitch, with a vengeance, so I appreciated this even more than I would have, as a die-hard fan of the show Younger who remembered seeing Foster's crochet progress on her Instagram.

I expect this book still probably won't have a lot of staying power with me, but I did appreciate her demonstrating how crafting served as both a thing to distract her from focusing on anxious thoughts and as a constructive way to express feelings she may have been struggling with.

If you're a fan of Sutton Foster and have more than a passing interest in crafting, you'll find a lot to enjoy here.
