Don’t read the introduction by Sophie Mackintosh. I’m pretty upset that I did, because it ruins a lot of the experience of reading the book. Don’t read the rest of my review if you haven’t read the book and want to preserve that.
The introduction revealed that we never learn anything about what happened, where they are, and why they were being held captive. I think if I didn’t know that going in, I would have enjoyed this more. I didn’t dislike it, but having that spoiled robbed me of being in a similar position as the women knowledge-wise (i.e., knowing nothing, and not knowing whether or not I’d ever know anything).
