The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

5.0

There are not a lot of books out there that hook me in the first few sentences but I was lost to this novel in a matter of seconds.

The story made me want to visit Barcelona. It made me wish that the Cemetery of Forgotten Books is real. I wanted to find the hat shop and book store and wander in thinking, "I know this place." But most of all I wanted the books to be real. The summaries are tantalizing.

This is one of the best books I've read in awhile. I loved it so much I was actually appalled when it was over. I could barely put it down at all.
