This book was written for the book lovers. The bookshop setting, the way the characters discuss books, and the way the books that the characters read seem to be inspired by real life books, singlehandedly restored my faith in humanity. The bookish aspect was also surprisingly meta?? I can't really explain what I mean by that, but I loved it.

As this is a sapphic book written by a mam, I was a little anxious going in. But it's genuinely so well done, Travis Baldree really just gets it (at least imo). I did think that Viv had more chemistry with a couple of the other characters than with the actual love interest, but at the end of the day it was cute, fun and gay - what more can I really ask for?

This won't be a book for everyone. I wouldn't say it has NO plot just vibes - it has more plot and higher stakes than L&L - but it is a cosy fantasy, and it definitely PRIORITISES vibes. Personally the vibes are what I was here for though, and I thought it was perfect😌.

And then we have the characters. To me, they are what truly make the story - they're all just so NICE. I obviously adored Satchel, Fern was my absolute favourite and Viv? I fear I am no longer in a position to judge people's questionable crushes🤧. Their little found family somehow made me feel both warm and fuzzy AND incredibly lonely because I don't have one of my own. I wouldn't change it for the world though, they're awesome🥹.

I'm not sure how to bring this review to a natural conclusion, so I'm just going to go ahead and end it here. In case it wasn't clear, I loved this book and would strongly urge you to read it!!
