The Sorrows of Young Werther
by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Holy crap, this was so melodramatic. I loved it. I didn't event expect to love it. I thought it would just be something that I had always meant to read just cause it's short. But nope. It was so over the top that it was actually really fun. Basically, Werther falls in love with this woman and she friendzones him hard and marries his friend but he continues to delude himself with hope until his despair over it is pretty all consuming. You know how people say that women are too emotional to run things? I want to just hand those people a copy of this book.
