Girl and boy are in a long-standing competition as both are vying to be class valedictorian. After graduation, in a traditional senior’s game, the rest of the players wanted to push the two from their pedestal and planned to gang up on them. Girl and boy are forced to team up, put their differences aside, and win one final competition... together.

tldr / long story short

I think this was really sweet. I am not usually a fan of very complex games written in books because they do not tend to blend well and make things boring for me. This could be a great teen movie. The writing was fairly good and it was cute. The tension was clearly there and this was the first YA I’ve liked in a while.

ALSO, it’s great that we have a story that no longer focuses on jocks or bad meets good. Now we have good and good, and it was amazing.

initial thoughts

I know that I’m supposed to be banned in the YA genre at this point. I don’t know what propelled me to read such a book if I’m being honest. I did have a good time with it.
