The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie

5.0

Alright this is my 5th Agatha Christie book and I admit it I’m addicted to murder mystery. In this book we get a retired Hercule Poirot. His normal companions are not with him on this adventure. Poirot with no cases, no Bouc, and no Captain Hastings settles in for a quiet life of gardening. That is… until the murder of Roger Ackroyd. At once Mr. Ackroyd’s niece summons Poirot out of retirement to solve the crime. Aiding Poirot in the investigation is Dr. Sheppard and his gossip of a sister. This book was a breath of fresh air in the tales of Poirot with an amazing twist. For now, this is my favorite Agatha Christie novel, with several more on my reading list.
