Forever and a Duke
by Grace Burrowes
Rather predictable, but frankly, I really enjoy visiting the gentle and kind Burrowes universe. The men are secure enough to be affectionate with both women and their male friends, the women are complex and interesting, and you can't help but get a rush of dopamine from the way the characters enjoy one another. I need a break from historical romance, but I'll likely continue to pick up whatever Burrowes writes. It's a happy little escape, despite the fact that most of her characters have suffered.
