While in undergrad, I heard mention of Angela Davis in the context of feminism, but I never really pursued the opportunity to read any of her work. (I suppose that was fair given that I had plenty of assigned reading to focus on!) I am definitely glad that I picked up this book! It really helped me to grasp the importance of intersectional social justice theory and activism, and I now want to read more by her and others on this important concept. In addition, I finish this book with a lot to consider regarding prison abolition, a notion I have never really considered. This was definitely a thought provoking book, and I recommend it to those interested.
