The New 52: Futures End Vol. 1 by Brian Azzarello, Jeff Lemire

3.0

The challenge with long-spanning event books is that you have to capture the interest of the reader right at the onset and hold on to it until the end of the story. The starting point to find this book did the first part well but right before it reaches the halfway point of this first-of-three volume, you get the notion that they are trying to draw it out as long as they could, much like how a soap opera wants to delay the revelations na which were due a season ago. That said, the questions raised are enough to rope in fans of the characters of this universe although I'm afraid may not be enough to keep the casual fan.
