Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell

5.0

The last 50% of the book is literal mindfuck. You start the beginning and you think, "Oh my god! This is ridiculous but in some sense true for our real world." But just what mental torture and layer by layer pealing of concepts that are in the coming chapters, you won't be able to comprehend. It is just so good. I want to read and reread it again till I have understood it to the core and there is nothing more left for me to extricate from it. Because I know that it is one those books that you can come back to at different points in your life with added knowledge and experience and find a whole different meaning to things that you may have previously just skimmed over. I loved it. I love classics so much. I couldn't get enough of it. From the first chapters I knew this was going to be good. And it so was.
I have annotated it so heavily. Some are just ridiculous annotations because the writing is just so good I couldn't help it. This is why I love reading. Chef's kiss.
