Rush the Edge by S.J. Sylvis
4.0

This story follows Daisy who moves in with her brother only to realize his best friend aka the guy she denied is right next door. I enjoyed this book and ate it up. I love the continuation of this hockey series and following the mysterious, dark Kane. I enjoyed the conflicts in this book as there is healing, heartbreak, and secrets being revealed. The pacing was great for this story and I loved the Chicago setting. This is dark so I recommend checking the TWs. This book is told from both Daisy and Kane’s pov.

Daisy moves in with her brother to start her life and I loved her character. She is strong, committed, and loves to help those around her. Then we have Kane who has secrets of his own and I just loved getting to discover who he is. He’s protective of Daisy and even with his horrible pranks, he knew when she needed him. There are many side characters but I enjoyed Malakai and Reese whose book I am excited for. The romance is brother’s best friend, enemies to lovers, and second chance. It’s steamy with lots of angst and bantering. I do wish we got to see more of the the MCs together as a couple because their relationship was so rushed after getting together.

The ending was great, and I loved finally seeing these two together. Now I am excited for book two because there is chemistry brewing throughout this book between Malakai and Reese which will have that single parent storyline. I can’t wait to see where Sylvis goes next with this series.
