What would you do, if you found out your marriage was a lie?

Adele is a marriage counselor who just found out her husband, Patrick, is missing. While searching for clues that may help find him, she discovers her marriage is a lie and he has been living a double life.

Rating: 2 stars

The Marriage Counselor was an intriguing idea and concept to write. I was enticed by the synopsis of the story alone. I’m rating this 2 stars because this story lacked clarity and it was very predictable. There were too many characters to follow and some of the details didn’t make any sense.

Adele was a horrible main character and she irritated the shit out of me the whole story. The sub-characters were more interesting than her. I wanted to scream at her the entire time because of how boring she was.

I believe that this story needed to go back to the drawing board because as I said before, a lot of the events in this book did not make sense. The plot twists were very predictable and I was underwhelmed.

Great concept, it wasn’t for me.

Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture for the arc!
